The Big Church Team is made up of hundreds of friendly, enthusiastic, hard-working people who are ready to serve and have an amazing time, and we are so thankful for each and every one of them! Why not join this fantastic bunch and be on Team in 2018?

Our Team members have a great time volunteering with us. They get to experience both sides of the event; the side that the public see, with plenty of free time to enjoy the event, as well as the side seen only by us as we work together to create an incredible experience for the thousands of people on-site.

Who can apply?

If you are over 18, we’d love for you to be involved. You will need to fill out a detailed application form (unless you were on Team in 2016 & 2017, in that case you just need to re-apply). Please be aware that you must provide us with at least two references, who we will be contacting before we accept you on Team.

What can I do?

There are loads of roles on Team, so you can apply for one that matches your skills, personality and experience to make sure that working hard is also great fun. The Big Church Team does everything; from stewarding and selling drinks, to helping people on the campsite and selling artist merchandise. Take a look at all the roles below.

Why should I apply?

As a Team member, you’ll be fully involved in running the day-to-day commitments that make the event possible. You will also have time off to enjoy the music and entertainment throughout the weekend.

When do I need to work?

Shift patterns will vary depending on the role you’re given, but each shift will usually last between 8 to 10 hours. You will be asked to commit to two shifts over the weekend. In the South: Friday - Monday and the North: Thursday - Sunday.

You will need to arrive and register the night before the first day you serve. There will be a briefing and worship time everyday at 9am and 8.30pm, which is an important part of your commitment to the Big Church Team.

You will also need to be available for an online training session in advance of the event, this is an essential time of learning and orientation. More details will be sent to you once you’ve been accepted onto Team.

Shifts and arrival times:

You must be available the night before your shift, i.e. if you have a shift on the Friday and Saturday then you must be on site for Thursday evening. Actual start and finish times will vary depending upon the role you're allocated.

Most positions are confirmed on a first come, first serve basis, so the sooner you apply the better. We will try our best to give you your first choice but please be aware that this may not always be possible.

Cancellation policy:

Again this year, we are asking for your card details to secure your placement on Team. In 2016, we had nearly 80 people who didn’t turn up for their shifts and even more the year before. After introducing this cancellation policy in 2017 we only had 5 people who didn’t turn up, which made the event a more enjoyable experience for all of the Team. Nothing will be charged to your card unless you don't turn up at the event, cancel at the last minute (without good reason such as illness or family bereavement) or choose not to complete your shifts.

Obviously, we understand that circumstances do change, so if you cancel your place you won't be charged unless you cancel within a month of the date you are due to serve, or you don't complete all your shifts on-site, then you'll be charged the gate price of an adult weekend ticket.
