Information correct as of Friday 22nd May 2020.
It is with great sadness and disappointment that we had to announce that due to the current UK epidemic of coronavirus and recent government advice, the Big Church Day Out 2020 was cancelled on March 17th 2020. BCDO are already making plans to to gather again on May 29-30th 2021, and tickets will be back on sale as soon as we have confirmation that large events are again permissable.
This has never been the outcome that any of us would have wanted. We are completely gutted. We had the most amazing dreams and plans for this May 2020 and such a vision of bringing the church together again.
This leaves us in a challenging financial position with the cancellation costing BCDO more than £500,000. We spend all year paying our full time staff team, marketing the event, incurring operational costs for the charity, and many other expenses that are now unrecoverable. Our insurance policies do not cover these extraordinary circumstances.
If you have purchased a BCDO 2020 ticket you should have been sent an email explaining what happens next. If not, any requests for refunds can no longer be made following the expiration of the refund request deadline on April 17th 2020, which further to our T's and C's was published here.
The 2020 event is now closed and all tickets not refunded have been automatically deferred to the 2021 event under the T's and C's of that event.
I know that almost everyone will be affected by the impact of coronavirus, and we are praying for you in these difficult times. Please pray for our team and all involved, as we navigate our way through this and work towards an amazing future for us all at the Big Church Day Out.
If you would like to donate towards our unexpected cancellation costs and help secure the future of BCDO, any amount would be gratefully received - DONATE HERE.
If you have further questions please email email@example.com and we will do our best to respond to you within 10 working days.
We will continue to post any updates here as things develop over the coming weeks.
Above all, please continue to pray.
From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart goes faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2
