Why should I apply?
As a Team member you’ll be fully involved in running the day-to-day commitments that make the event possible. You will also have time off to enjoy the music and entertainment throughout the weekend.
If you join the Big Church Team, we expect you to work hard and be 100% committed, in return you’ll receive:
Who can apply?
If you are over 18 we’d love for you to be involved. You will need to fill out an application form (unless you were on Team in 2018 & 2019, in that case you just need to re-apply). Please be aware that you must provide us with at least two references, who we will be contacting before we accept you on Team.
What can I do?
There are loads of roles within our team, so you can apply for one that matches your skills, personality and experience to make sure that working hard is also great fun. The Big Church Team does everything; from stewarding to helping the craft tent, from helping people on the campsite to selling Artist Merchandise.
When do I need to work?
Shift patterns will vary depending on the role you’re given, but each shift will usually last between 8 and 10 hours. You will be asked to commit to two shifts over the weekend: Friday - Monday.
You will need to arrive and register the night before the first day you serve. There will be a briefing and worship time, which is an important part of your commitment to the Big Church Team.
You will also need to be available for an online training session in advance of the event, this is an essential time of learning and orientation. More details will be sent to you once you’ve been accepted onto Team.
Shifts and Arrival times:
You must be available the night before your shift, i.e. if you have a shift on the Friday and Saturday then you must be on site for Thursday evening. Actual start and finish times will vary depending upon the role you're allocated. Most positions are confirmed on a first come, first serve basis, so the sooner you apply the better. We will try our best to give you your first choice but please be aware that this may not always be possible.
Again this year, we are asking for your card details to secure your placement on team. In past years we had nearly 80 no shows, after introducing this cancellation policy in 2017, 2018 and 2019 we only had 5 no shows to the event, which made the event a more enjoyable experience for the team. Nothing will be charged to your card unless you don't show for the event, cancel at the last minute (without good reason such as illness or family bereavement) or choose not to complete your shifts.
Obviously we understand that circumstances do change, so if you cancel your place you won't be charged unless you cancel within a month of the date you are due to serve, or you don't complete all your shifts on-site, then you'll be charged the gate price of an adult weekend ticket.

This year we are excited to announce a brand new Youth festival called BCYouth (BCY). BCY will run the same weekend as Big Church Day Out from the 23rd - 25th May.
There will be a total of 4 main meetings over three days.
Saturday & Sunday - 9.30am - 11.30am - Morning Programme
Bank Holiday Monday - 9.30am - 1pm - Breakout sessions & Morning celebrations
Along with our afterhours programme from 10.30pm - midnight. As well as all of this fantastic content, we also have an exclusive BCYouth campsite for youth groups.
We are looking for a fantastic team of people who have a heart for young people who would like to serve in the BCYouth team over the weekend. You will have the same volunteer offer as the rest of the BCDO team including; a free ticket to the event, fed on the days you serve, free camping pitch, t-shirts and much more! For this team, we ask that you serve a total of 20 hours over the weekend from Thursday - Monday (Depending on what team you serve on). This could be split into two 10 hour shifts over two days, or 5 hours shifts over four days and so on. Either way, you will have enough time to enjoy the event and see what BCDO has to offer.
